We scanned 44 small-business websites. Here's what AI sees.
On September 24 we pointed the AgentEligible engine at 44 real business websites across the Treasure Coast — restaurants, salons, shops, a theatre, a resort — and scored each one the way an AI assistant sees it. Forty sites could be scored. The average was 70.1 out of 100. Eighteen fell below 70. Here's what we learned.

44 sites scanned; 40 scored. Four blocked our polite reader with 403s or dead connections — the same walls AI crawlers hit. Average score: 70.1/100. 18 of the 40 scored below 70 — Significant Gaps or worse on our scale. Best: The Victorian Aveda Salon in Stuart at 95. Worst: Nino's Cafe in Vero Beach at 36.
The five failures almost everyone shares
A quote-request action was missing on 34 of 40 sites. Policies or restrictions missing on 30. Freshness signals missing on 29. An appointment or scheduling action missing on 26. Consistent business information across pages missing on 17. None of these requires a redesign — they're missing facts, and facts are cheap to add.
What the best sites all do
Every site in the top 10 had all four of these: schema.org structured data, an XML sitemap, services described in plain text, and pricing or pricing guidance. In the bottom 10, most had none. The gap between 95 and 36 isn't design budget — it's machine-readable facts.
The uncomfortable one
Four sites couldn't be read at all — bot walls and dead connections. If a polite automated reader can't load your pages, neither can an AI crawler. Those businesses aren't just hard to recommend; they're invisible.
